The use of low dose steroids in shock is controversial. This meta-analysis of 7 randomized trial found no difference in mortality with the use of steroids in septic shock, but a significant benefit in shock reversal with the use of steroids (relative risk 1.17, CI 1.07 to 1.28) (abstract)
