When LP not necessary for SAH and negative Head CT

In this large cohort of over 3,000 patients with suspected SAH, a negative head CT had a negative predictive value of 99.4%, and 100% if the CT was done within 6 hours of headache onset. LP is not necessary in patients with negative head CT and symptom onset within 6 hours of CT (abstract)
